Mission chief
Prof. Julio F. D. Rezende
is a pioneer in Brazil promoting quality education related to Space, Sustainability, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (S3TEM) on Mars, identifying some possible solutions to be applied in arid and semiarid regions, verifying issues related to the operation of self-sustaining habitats. His interest is related to sustainability and space.
Rezende is Bachelor of Management and Psychology, master and PhD on Sustainability (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte – UFRN) and post-doc in University of Central Florida- UCF (Orlando-Florida). Julio Rezende has published more than 10 books about sustainability and innovation. Teaches in the Industrial Engineering in UFRN, is coordinator of space analog station HABITAT MARTE, innovation director of FAPERN and councilor in CFA. Performs lectures in different countries about sustainability, innovation and management in English and Spanish.
Habitat Marte Researcher
Davi Souza
Davi Souza is an Electrical Engineering student at UFRN and also an analog astronaut at Habitat Marte. During missions of Habitat Marte he had the opportunity to deepen his research related to agriculture in controlled environments. For him, his space career as an analogue astronaut is just the first step towards achieving his goal of becoming a greenhouse specialist and developing innovative projects associated with sustainable agriculture, space greenhouses and food production on Mars.
Ilankuzhali Elavarasan
Ilankuzhali Elavarasan is an aerospace engineer from India. She is currently working as a Researcher at Space development Nexus SDNx and Habitat Marte, on ‘the Martian atmospheric and surface radiation and studies its effect on plant growth and sustainability for a future space habitat’. She is extremely passionate about astrobiology and planetary geology. With her multidisciplinary skills and futuristic vision, she connects space exploration with science in daily life and emphasize the importance of space awareness through various initiatives.
Ideation Team
Deepanshu Mathur
Deepanshu Mathur is a Mechanical Engineer from India. He is a space exploration enthusiast and Analog researcher at Habitat Marte, made contributions towards proposing ideas for sustainable habitability in space & Mars. He is a Citizen Scientist (IASC) and also the part of Ideation and development team at Habitat Marte. He aim towards spreading awareness on space and space exploration to masses.
Lokesh Gurjar
Lokesh is a passionate Citizen Scientist and a space exploration advocate having degree in mobility. He has contributed as an Analog Astronaut to research and identify sustainable habitability on Mars at Habitat Marte.
Currently working as a (security engineer) he’s focused on preventing hackers or malicious intruders from obtaining the most critical information of clients.
While working closely with the Curation team Lokesh has introduced/incorporated and improved the overall cyber security posture of Habitat Marte which ultimately helps in identifying gaps and vulnerability at organisation’s network and informational assets.
